ICC World Cup 2023 ticket sale: BCCI’s huge announcement

India has sole hosting rights to the ICC World Cup 2023 and fans are already anticipate cricket’s biggest event in the country from October 5. The Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) has announced the new ICC World Cup 2023 ticket sale for all 48 matches and 10 warm-up fixtures at the tournament.

Tickets at the event will be available in stages and would kick off from August 25, 2023. Mastercard users have the sole presale window from 24th August to September 14th, 2023 according to the BCCI schedule and released press statement:

“In order to make sure that fans have a smooth and complete time buying tickets, the sales process for this famous tournament will be presented in a series of carefully managed steps. In the first step, Mastercard, the ICC‘s commercial partner, will have an exclusive 24-hour window”

ICC Announces BookMyShow as Ticketing Partner

The BCCI took advantage of their press release to announce BookMyShow as the preferred ticketing platform for all bookings ahead of ICC ODI World Cup games:

“As we get closer to the much-anticipated ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, the biggest international event of the year, we’re thrilled to announce BookMyShow as the ticketing platform.” as said by Hemang Amin, interim BCCI CEO,

He added “When online ticket sales start, it will be a big step towards the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in 2023. We are sure that getting tickets will be easy and that fans will be able to see all of the action on the pitch without any problems…Our pledge includes putting in place effective access control systems and a full range of support services so that every fan can enjoy the live show from the stadium stands.”

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has also worked closely with BCCI officials throughout preparations for this year’s World Cup. A statement from an ICC executive, Chris Tetley re-echoed their drive to captivate cricket fans worldwide in India from October:

 “The ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 is set to captivate cricket enthusiasts worldwide, drawing in fans from all corners of the globe…We are delighted that tickets are going on sale and can be purchased through the official ticketing site. With prices that cater to everyone, we encourage fans to get their tickets and be a part of the biggest Cricket World Cup ever.”

• 29th August, 2023 from 6 PM IST and later: Mastercard Pre-sale – All India games excluding warm-up games
• 14th September, 2023 from 6 PM IST and later: Mastercard Presale – Semifinals and Final
• The ticket sales for all other users have been segregated as per the phases below
