Following their excellent batting performance post the World Cup 2023 finals, the Aussies started counter-attacking the Indian bowlers.

Though Ravi Bishnoi dismissed Australian opener Matthew short ( 13 runs from 11 balls- including 3 fours), the Aussies continued to dominate with the bat.

The 130-run partnership between Steve Smith and Josh Inglis proved to be unstoppable and destructive. At one point in time, it seemed that the dual combination would guide Australia‘s total to 235 to 240 runs. Steve Smith was dismissed at 161-2 in 15.5 overs after being run out by Prasidh Krishna and Mukesh Kumar.

Josh Inglis scored his maiden T20I century of 110 runs from just 50 balls ( including 11 fours and 8 sixes). Steve Smith as an opener, provided a backup to Josh Inglis by scoring 52 runs from just 41 balls( including 8 fours).

Chasing a huge target against the defending champions, India lost both their openers at an early stage. The quick dismissal of Ruturaj Gaikwad with golden duck ( 0 from 0) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (21 runs 8 balls- 2 fours and 2 sixes), completely pressurized the Indian batsmen.

Suryakumar Yadav as a captain and talented batsman revived India from a collapsing start.

Ishan Kishan, who wasn’t provided an opportunity in the World Cup playing XI after Shubman Gill’s return, utilized this match to prove his talent.

Suryakumar and Ishan stitched a 112-run partnership to keep the chase alive.

Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav with his blistering knock of 80 runs from 42 balls ( including 9 fours and 4 sixes) proves that he is still the best T20I batsman.

Ishan Kishan’s 58 runs from 39 balls ( including 2 fours and 5 sixes), provided additional support to Team India.

After Surya’s and Ishan’s dismissal, Rinku Singh continued the chase with a quickfire performance of 22 runs from 14 balls ( including 4 fours).

During the final over, the equation was at stake for both teams with 2 runs required from the last 2 balls! Arshdeep Singh had to depart after a runout while making an attempt to score the 2nd run.

With Rinku Singh on strike, the equation was tallied for both teams with 1 run required from 1 ball! It would have been a draw match if Sean Abbott wouldn’t have bowled a no-ball by stepping out of the line.

Despite Rinku Singh smashing six runs in the final delivery, neither the team’s total nor his personal score counted. If Sean Abbott wouldn’t have bowled a no-ball, the match-winning six from Rinku SIngh’s bat would be counted.

Ultimately, India chased the target by scoring 209-8 in 19.5 overs.
