Controversy between Rishabh Pant and Urvashi Rautela has set social media abuzz for some time now. Many social media enthusiasts believe the drama between Pant and Rautela are all for clout, but they might be wrong.

The Pant-Rautela Hotel Controversy in 2018
Rautela online spat with Rishabh Pant started when she claimed a certain “Mr. RP” was urgently seeking to speak with her. She told Bollywood Hungama, a local lifestyle magazine, that one “Mr. RP” waited for her at the lobby of a hotel for several hours.
Rautela claims this happened at a hotel in New Delhi. She claimed she slept off after a busy day in her hotel only to wake up to seventeen (17) missed calls from “RP”.
In her own words, Rautela said:
“When I woke up I saw 16-17 missed calls and then I felt so bad that someone was waiting for me and I told him to meet me in Mumbai.”
It didn’t take long before fans started linking the “Mr. RP” to Rishabh Pant.
Rishabh Pant responded almost immediately through his Insta story, subtly telling his fans he’s not the one Urvashi was referring to. In the post (now-deleted), Pant commented:
“It’s funny how people lie in interviews just for some meagre popularity and for hitting the headlines. Sad how some people are so thirsty for fame and name…May God bless them”
Pant will conclude the post with two hashtags ‘#Merapichachhorobehen, meaning “sister, please leave me”, and ‘#Jhuthkibhilimithotihai, which means “lying has a limit”
Rautela will take to her social media handle to respond, saying “Chotu bhaiyaa”, meaning younger brother. She also told him to “play bat ball” in her replies to his post.
Urvashi will go on to describe Rishabh as a “cougar hunter” and someone keen to exploit a “silent girl”. Rautela said she can’t be defamed and she isn’t a naïve girl. She also wished him a merry Raksha Bandhan in her reply post.
Rautela at the Asian Cup and a Social Media Meme Fest
Urvashi will reignite her online feud with Rishabh when she attended India’s opening game against Pakistan at the Asian Cup in Dubai. Rishabh was sidelined at this event and it gave rise to several hilarious memes on social media.
Some of these memes claimed Rishabh was hiding from Urvashi and asked to be left out of India’s squad. Others claimed Rishabh spotted Urvashi at different locations in Dubai and decided to withdraw from the opening game against Pakistan. There is no truth to these memes, but they lasted several days on trending topics across social media.
“RP” Controversy: Is Urvashi Referring to Someone Else?
Rumors that Urvashi may be referring to another RP are not new. Many commentators believed she was referring to someone else after her reply to Pant’s now-deleted Insta story.
Urvashi is no stranger to controversial behaviour on social media, but we believe there is another RP most fans don’t know about. It is true that Rishabh Pant and Urvashi Rautela dated years back, but there’s no reason to believe they are still together.
Their online spat and dodgy appearances to avoid each other in public shows they may no longer have anything in common. However, there is another “RP” that may have been the one Urvashi was referring to in her interview.
That RP is most likely Ram Pothineni, an actor from South Indian Bollywood. Pothineni is doing great in the character actor scene for many South Indian films and is an award-winning performer.

Urvashi has apologised publicly to Rishabh in the past and retracted it later, saying she was saying sorry to her fans.
