Yashasvi Jaiswal second youngest batter to 1000 IPL runs

Indian youth batter Yashasvi Jaiswal becomes a batting session overnight. In the Indian Premier League 2023, he has become the second youngest batter to hit 1000 runs. The Rajasthan Royals squad and other officials are thrilled and excited about his brilliant performance. Each of them is expecting a bright future for him. He might be a new face in the national team after such an overwhelming achievement in the IPL this season.

The scenario:

Rajasthan Royals opener Yashasvi Jaiswal became the joint 2nd-fastest to enter the 1000-run club in the Indian Premier League. He also became the second youngest batter to score 1000 IPL runs. During the league match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Jaiswal smashed most of the short deliveries from Marco Jansen to get to the successful milestone in 34 innings. Former CSK batter Suresh Raina had also taken the same number of innings to breach the mark.

On the match day, Rajasthan Royals won the toss & opted to first batting against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Rajasthan included the senior batter Joe Root in the side. Yashasvi Jaiswal unleashed an attack on Hyderabad from ball 1. Jaiswal was looking in sublime touch with brisk hitting.

SRH’s veteran pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar was taken to the cleaners by Jaiswal as the left-handed batter was seen playing innovative shots. Marco Jansen, the left-arm pacer, was also thrashed by the batters around the park. Jansen was bowling the fifth over; on the second and third delivery of the over, he struck two back-to-back boundaries. Yashasvi could not clear the fence on the next two balls, and on the last ball of the over, Jaiswal tried to hit a shot towards the third man area but gave an easy catch to the short third to Natarajan.

Yashasvi was out on 35 runs in 18 balls and struck five fours and two sixes. RR’s score at five overs was 54-1. The hosts would be aiming to post a score over 180. There are chances that Dew may come into the action later in the match.

Jaiswal becomes a sensation:

Yashasvi Jaiswal has been the centre of attention for Rajasthan since his maiden arrival in 2020. Jaiswal is getting the attention and support of fans at the national level after performing well in the 2020 U-19 World Cup. Soon after, he joined the Royals team. Jaiswal is the player the Royals retained before the 2022 mega auction. The performance proved that the decision to keep the player with the team was right.

Among Indians, only master-blaster Sachin Tendulkar and Chennai star Ruturaj Gaikwad had entered the club faster in 31 innings. Yashasvi, aged 21 years and 130 days, overtook DC’s Prithvi Shaw to become the 2nd youngest to get to the 1000-run mark. DC’s Rishabh Pant ruled out of the ongoing season for an unfortunate incident, is the most youthful (20 years, 218 days).

Yashasvi Jaiswal is also a contender for the IPL 2023 Orange Cap. He is second on the list with 477 runs after featuring in 11 games. Faf is 34 runs ahead of him after playing ten matches. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 35 runs in 18 deliveries and helped Rajasthan to a fiery start in the powerplay. Rajasthan Royals scored 214 runs after 20 overs, and this is a must-win game for them to keep themselves safe in the table.
